The architecture of what remains.

An ossuary was a place of careful arrangement, every element placed in relation to others. The Victorians took the idea further and built whole gardens around it, an architecture of branch and stone and bloom. White roses and bare branches reach outward from a pale trough, each element kept exactly as found, composed in formal relationship.
