Tartarus was not the underworld. It lay beneath it, the abyss where the gods sent the Titans when even Hades was not far enough. An anvil dropped from earth would fall for nine days before reaching it. These dark spheres carry that gravity, held on long stems in rows above a long pale vessel. Verticals and weighted points in formal procession.
